This rare Danish ceramic dish by Axella features a minimalist cream base with contrasting brown line accents. Its clean, understated design embodies the Scandinavian ceramic aesthetic, making it perfect for both functional and decorative use.
Axella Denmark pottery, founded by Aksel Larsen around 1970 in Nørresundby, near Aarhus, is known for its distinctive 1970s stoneware designs. The pottery underwent several name changes, from Axella Design to Axella Ceramics, before closing in 1987-88. Renowned designers Jens Jensen and Jette Hellerøe both worked there. Axella pieces are typically stamped with an impressed mark.
