We believe this sign is from 1968 which is when Barbican changed its name from Aldersgate and Barbican to just Barbican. It’s enamel and original. Featuring the Metropolitan line and circle line colours as previously the Hammersmith and City line was part of the Met so this dates it pre 1990 anyway. There’s also a makers sticker on the back with a 60s typeface. It would have been on the platform likely against a wall as the back wood panel that holds it to the wall is blackened on the one side.
